OIR Announces 2020 PPACA Individual Market Health Insurance Plan Rates
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida Office of
Insurance Regulation (OIR) announced today that premiums for Florida individual
major medical plans in compliance with the federal Patient Protection &
Affordable Care Act (PPACA) have been approved. Following OIR’s rate filing
review, the average
state-wide approved rate change on the Exchange is
0.0 percent beginning January 1, 2020.
A total of ten health insurance companies submitted rate filings
for OIR’s review in June with final rate determinations due by August 22, 2019,
per federal guidelines. This information can be located in the Individual PPACA

Consumers are encouraged to review their coverage options on HealthCare.gov
as some may experience changes in the amount of their after-subsidy
premiums.
Federal review of the rate filing information has not been
finalized by the Department of Health & Human Services and is subject to
